Payments

METHODS OF PAYMENT:

We accept all major credit and debit cards and pre-pay cards from Visa and Mastercard. If customers wish to pay for their items via alternative methods such as bank transfer they are advised to contact us.


INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS:

All purchases are made in GBP £ Sterling. Any conversion will be done by the payment method customers choose to pay with. We have no control over exchange rates, or any fees that a customer’s card/account provider may charge.


PRE-ORDERS:

Customers that choose our pre-order services are required to declare the correct e-mail address for invoicing the outstanding balance at time of pre-order. Any failure to notify us of changes to accounts may result in unnecessary delays and possible cancellation of your order when the items come into stock without refund of the pre-order deposit.


PAYMENT VERIFICATION:

Card payments go through a verification process - this is for the security of the buyer, and to reduce the risk of potential fraud. If a card is declined during this process, in most cases it is a security check and will require you to contact your card issuer.

Sometimes when a card declines and is successfully put through again, it can create a ‘shadow payment’ where it may appear you have been charged twice, in reality your card issuer has put the declined amount aside ready for payment. We will not accept a duplicate payment and it should appear returned in your account within a few days once the card issuer has amended this. Customers uncertain about these type of transactions are advised to contact their bank/card issuer in the first instance, but to contact us before requesting a chargeback.


CREDIT CARD SECURITY:

As per our Privacy Policy, we do not store or share any credit card or billing information. Credit Cards used on our site are encrypted and sent to our payment gateway. We only store a ‘token’ for future transactions, this is secure and for ease of shopping and of no use to third parties.


UNKNOWN PAYMENTS:

On the highly rare chance that you don’t recognise a payment to Comics and Cocktails please contact us. It could be for a number of reasons that are often very easy to correct immediately, including family/friends with access to your card or login details, or additional cards associated with the account.


COMICS SUBSCRIPTIONS / STANDING ORDERS:

If you wish to create an ongoing subscription to any comic title(s) please get in touch and we’ll do our best to tailor a service for you!



Promotions and Voucher Codes


PROMOTION EVENTS:

From time to time, we run general promotions across specific brands, lines, genre’s or in special events across the website i.e. in Magazine or Social Media campaigns.


PLEASE NOTE: Voucher Codes are only applicable at the time of purchase and cannot be applied retrospectively, namely requests for partial refunds for orders already placed cannot be honoured. Orders that have been placed, sent, and subsequently returned or damaged with the intent to re-order in aid of using a discount will be cancelled and considered abuse of a discount event and our policies, and may result in your exclusion from promotional activity or your ability to shop with us in future.


Voucher Codes that have been placed in certain media (Magazines, third party websites and social media pages) are intended for readers, viewers and subscribers of this media. Again we cannot offer a retrospective discount, specifically where you are not part of the target audience and are following ‘word of mouth’ only, after ordering.

In the event of a generic Voucher Code being offered the following exclusions may apply but are not limited to:

• Pre-orders are excluded from all generic % and £ off public promotional events.

• Premium priced and high end articles such as Hot Toys and Sideshow distributed Statues and figures.

• Listings where a reduced combined price for multiple items has already been applied (specifically entire waves or sets of figures and collectibles).

• Shipping costs for international orders; additional shipping or signed for costs; postage fees for Comics and Books.

• Certain clearance items, or items already reduced as part of a named and separate running sale category or additional discount code available for an event on the site.

• Multiple voucher codes may not be applied to orders.

• Convention exclusives or items where an order limit applies.


PERSONAL VOUCHER CODES:

We do on specific occasions send voucher codes out to customers. These vouchers are tailored to the specific customer and may include any, all or none of the above listed exclusions.

Voucher codes for an individual are completely at our discretion and are NOT available upon request. We monitor customer activity for loyalty considering both spend and frequency when considering good will vouchers and offer events. We cannot offer vouchers to first time customers under the promise of loyalty or a large order in the interest of fairness.

We will advise customers of a voucher or include it in their order physically and they are generally offered as part of a specific note of good will, or for help correcting a relevant issue under our other terms and conditions where applicable, or where we are working with an individual in both parties’ interest with regards to marketing or competitions.


GIFT CARDS: 

This is a digital gift card. After the purchase, you will receive an email with the gift card and instructions on how to use it. The card can be used as payment for any products we have on our website.


GIFT CARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS: (On purchase customers are accepting these terms and conditions, and confirming they have read, understood and accept all of the below that may apply:

• Discount coupons can't be used for a gift card purchase. If a customer applies a coupon code to an order, the discount applies to all the products in the order except the gift card.

• Gift Cards are ONLY redeemable online at comicsandcocktails.co.uk.

• Gift Cards can NOT be used to pay final balance invoices for items pre-ordered using the DEPOSIT ONLY option, please use the FULL PAYMENT option if placing pre-orders with a gift card where possible.

• Items purchased using a gift card are still subject to all of our other terms and conditions on site, found at the bottom of all our website pages.

• Any purchases made using a Gift Card cannot be refunded in cash if cancelled/returned.

• Customers can’t apply more than one gift card per order.

• A gift card can’t be used to buy another gift card.

• Any balance on a card can NOT be exchanged for cash.

• Comics and Cocktails cannot be held liable for lost, faulty or stolen cards or any credit amounts on such cards, we cannot offer cash in place of the balance on a lost, faulty or stolen card.

• Refunds are only available on gift cards and must be claimed within the time period set by the Consumer Contract Regulations. Your right to cancel an online card order starts when you place your order and ends 14 days from the date you receive the Gift Card. To cancel an order please contact us.

• Gift cards cannot be uploaded to Facebook or Instagram due to Facebook’s Terms of Use.

• If you lose or believe your gift card has been stolen, we can provide a replacement card or resend a card. The balance on your new card will be the same as the amount on your old card at the point you told us about the loss. Unfortunately, if your old card has already been used and there are reduced or no funds on it when you tell us, we regret we cannot replace the balance.

• Gift cards that have been gifted to you or forwarded by any third party are at the responsibility and risk of the original payee, we cannot be held responsible for any misuse of this code after purchase.

• We cannot alter or change the value of a gift card after purchase.

• We reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions that apply or discontinue the card scheme at any time.

• Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect your statutory rights
